About this opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Lead Developer with strong expertise in Java and Angular to join our dynamic team. This role combines hands-on development with technical leadership, guiding projects and mentoring team members.
Main responsibilities in this role
- Designing, building and enhancing the logic of customer-facing digital applications
- Taking ownership of the overall technical quality of solutions, establishing vulnerability-free coding standards, and maintaining a strategic backlog of technical improvements and architectural enhancements
- Mentoring and guiding team members in technical best practices, code reviews, and knowledge sharing
- Leading technical architecture decisions in collaboration with architects and other technology stakeholders, ensuring scalable and maintainable solutions
- Collaborating with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical specifications and representing technical expertise in cross-functional discussions
- Acting as the technical lead in Agile ceremonies, driving technical estimates, identifying risks, and proposing innovative solutions to complex challenges
- Ensuring system reliability through monitoring, troubleshooting production issues, and continuously improving operational practices
Who you are
This is the right role for you if you are fluent in Java, Angular, Finnish and English, and have at least 8 years of experience as a software developer with demonstrated progression into technical leadership roles.
You take ownership of challenges whether you already know the solution or not. When faced with unfamiliar problems, you are proactive in asking questions, seeking answers, and driving outcomes. You enjoy collaborating with diverse stakeholders, mentoring colleagues, and working in an international environment. A positive attitude and a good sense of humor are also highly valued.
Your background and skills include
- Strong expertise in Java (Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Hibernate/JPA)
- Advanced Angular knowledge
- Strong understanding of design patterns and SOLID principles
- Experience with Git, Bitbucket, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices
- Experience with integrations and APIs
- Testing expertise (JUnit, Testcontainers)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Proven experience leading technical initiatives and supporting development teams
- Approximately 8+ years of software development experience
- Fluent English and Finnish communication skills
