OEM Component Specialist / System Engineer

Vantaa, Finland / Uusimaa

InHunt Group’s Senior Headhunters Jarkko Huotari (+358 40 355 8677) or Tuuli Paasilehto (+358 40 631 8777).

Maillefer is a global leader in wire, cable, pipe and tube production technologies. We provide solutions ranging from individual components to complete production lines and factories, supported by a comprehensive lifecycle services portfolio. Sustainability, long-lasting equipment performance, efficient material use and continuous technological development are central to our business.

As part of Maillefer’s House of Experts, you will contribute to solutions that help customers improve production performance, product quality, material efficiency and sustainability. You will work in an organisation that values accountability, integrity, operational excellence, transparent communication, customer focus and cooperation across teams.

Would you like to work at the intersection of automation, mechanical engineering and industrial equipment – ensuring that different technologies form a reliable and high-performing production system?

Maillefer is looking for an

OEM Component Specialist / System Engineer

to join its Automation team in Vantaa. In this position, you will support international customer projects and ensure that automation, mechanical design, electrical solutions and third-party OEM equipment work together as one seamless system.

The role offers an excellent opportunity for an engineer who enjoys both technical details and system-level problem-solving and wants to grow into a key expert in OEM integration.

Your role

You will participate in the design and delivery of Maillefer’s production lines, from technical definition and equipment selection to integration, commissioning and technical support. Your work will have a direct impact on the performance, reliability and maintainability of the solutions delivered to customers.

You will work closely with automation and mechanical engineering, purchasing, sales, service, commissioning engineers and OEM suppliers. An important part of your role is to identify technical interfaces, coordinate the necessary specialists and ensure that the selected components and equipment function as part of the complete production system.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Participating in equipment- and system-level customer project design
  • Defining and coordinating the integration of OEM equipment and components
  • Ensuring compatibility between automation, mechanics, electrical systems and industrial communications
  • Maintaining product structures, technical documentation and OEM component data
  • Supporting system, product and component development
  • Cooperating with OEM suppliers on specifications, interfaces and technical issues
  • Providing technical support to sales, purchasing, service, customers and commissioning engineers
  • Resolving integration-related issues during project execution and commissioning

As your experience grows, you will take broader technical ownership of Maillefer’s OEM integrations. Together with the OEM Category Manager, you will also contribute to developing supplier cooperation, OEM agreements and the operating models that support sales and project execution.

The position includes international travel to customer sites and supplier locations, typically approximately 10–12 weeks per year

What we expect from you

You have a relevant degree in automation, electrical, mechanical or a closely related field of engineering. You also have experience with industrial machinery, production lines, automation systems or equipment-level customer projects.

To succeed in this role, you need to understand how automation, mechanics, electrical engineering and third-party equipment interact within a complete industrial system. Previous experience with OEM components, equipment integration, system engineering or international project deliveries will provide a strong foundation for the position.

You are able to interpret technical documentation and specifications, communicate effectively with different stakeholders and take independent ownership of technical topics. Strong English skills and readiness to work in an international customer, project and supplier network are essential.

Experience with Siemens TIA Portal or a similar automation environment, industrial communication protocols such as Profinet, and design tools such as Inventor or AutoCAD is considered an advantage. Experience with ERP or product-data systems, such as IFS, is also beneficial.

You do not need to be a specialist in every technical discipline. More important is your ability to understand complete systems, recognise critical interfaces and bring the right experts together to create a reliable solution.

What will help you succeed

You combine a system-level mindset with a genuine interest in technical details. You work independently, take ownership and move matters forward in a structured way. You learn new technologies and products quickly and remain constructive when project requirements or circumstances change.

Because the role connects customers, suppliers and several internal functions, you must also be able to explain technical matters clearly and collaborate effectively with people from different professional and cultural backgrounds.

What we offer

Maillefer offers you a responsible and varied position in technically demanding international customer projects. You will work with complete production lines and have the opportunity to influence technical solutions, product structures and OEM integration practices.

You will be supported by experienced automation, engineering and commissioning professionals while developing towards a key expert role in system-level engineering and OEM management. Maillefer also offers hybrid working possibilities and a stable international environment in which you can build a long-term career.

Maillefer is an established and stable international technology company where employment relationships are longer than in the industry. Our employees also have access to extended occupational healthcare, lunch and well-being benefits and several company-specific benefits.
