About this opportunity
We are looking for a skilled Java Backend Developer to design, develop, and maintain robust server-side applications. Join our engineering team to build scalable, high-performance backend systems that power our innovative solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop backend services and APIs using Java
- Build and maintain RESTful web services and microservices
- Write clean, efficient, and well-documented code
- Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements
- Optimize application performance and scalability
- Implement security and data protection measures
- Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards
- Troubleshoot and debug production issues
- Write unit and integration tests
- Work in an Agile/Scrum development environment
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional Java development experience
- Strong expertise in Core Java (Java 8+, Java 11/17 preferred)
- Proficiency with Spring Framework (Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security)
- Experience with RESTful API design and development
- Good knowledge of databases
- Understanding of ORM frameworks (e.g. Hibernate)
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Knowledge of Maven build tool
- Understanding of design patterns and object-oriented principles
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Fluent Finnish and English
