Convert market interest into commercial deals

In the first phase, your success will be measured primarily by your ability to convert strong market interest into signed commercial agreements.

NPHarvest is commercializing a breakthrough technology that transforms nutrient-rich liquid waste streams into valuable fertilizer products. By recovering nitrogen and phosphorus from wastewater and biogas digestate, the company helps reduce emissions, prevent nutrient pollution and strengthen Europe’s nutrient independence.

Following several years of research originating from Aalto University, NPHarvest has built its first industrial-scale demonstration unit and is now entering the commercialization phase targeting to the European biogas sector and wastewater treatment plants. The next step is to scale the technology commercially and establish strong customer relationships with leading biogas production plants across Europe.


We are therefore looking for a Commercial Manager who will play a key role in turning strong market interest into signed commercial agreements.


Your role

As Commercial Manager, you will lead NPHarvest’s commercial activities in the European biogas market. Your main responsibility will be to develop new customer relationships and guide opportunities from the first contact all the way to signed service agreements.

In the early phase of commercialization, the role is strongly focused on winning the first commercial deals and building customer momentum in the market. You will actively engage with potential customers, build trust with technical and commercial decision-makers, and lead negotiations until agreements are concluded.

You will work closely with a network of local sales partners across 11 European countries. These partners help open doors to the market, while you will take an active role in advancing opportunities, participating in negotiations and ensuring that commercial agreements are successfully concluded.

At the same time, you will contribute to building the company’s commercial foundations by developing sales processes, tools and materials that support scalable growth.


Key responsibilities

You will be responsible for driving commercial growth and building strong customer relationships in the European market. Your work will include identifying and developing new sales opportunities, presenting NPHarvest’s technology to customers, and leading negotiations that result in signed service agreements.

You will collaborate closely with the company’s sales partners across Europe. Together with these partners you will identify potential customers, develop opportunities and participate in negotiations with key stakeholders.

You will also represent NPHarvest in industry events, customer meetings and commercial discussions. In addition, you will monitor market developments, regulatory changes and competitor activity to support the company’s commercial strategy.

Internally, you will work closely with the development and project teams to ensure that customer expectations, commercial agreements and technical delivery are well aligned.


What success looks like

During the first months, you will familiarize yourself with the partner network and the company’s technology while preparing the ground for the first commercial agreements.

Within the first year, the objective is to secure the commercial service agreements in the pipeline for this year and to build a strong sales pipeline across the European biogas sector for the future.

Over the following years, you will help establish a scalable commercial organization that supports the company’s growth across Europe.


What we are looking for

We are looking for a commercially driven professional who enjoys opening doors, building relationships and closing complex deals. You are comfortable working with industrial customers, and you can establish credibility with both technical and commercial decision-makers.

You have a proven track record in selling industrial equipment, infrastructure solutions or complex technical systems with the common denominator being strong solution-selling expertise — seeing technology and products primarily just as tools for creating tangible value for the customer. You have experience managing long and complex B2B sales cycles and you have successfully negotiated commercial agreements with industrial customers.

Experience in the biogas, wastewater, environmental services or technology, or energy infrastructure sectors would be a significant advantage. Experience working in international markets in Europe is also highly valued.

You are fluent in English. Additional European languages such as German, French or Spanish are considered an advantage.
